Software Maintenance is a brad activity which includes enhancement of capabilities, error corrections, optimization, and deletion of obsolete capabilities. Since changes are unavoidable, mechanism must be developed for controlling, evaluating, and making modifications. So any kind of work which is done to change the software after it is in operation is known as Maintenance work. The main purpose of maintenance is to preserve the value of the software over time.
