Data Mining:  Data mining is a process in which the information is analyzed from different perspectives and is then summarized into useful information. This information can be used to cut costs as well as increase revenue. Data mining software is one of the analytical tools which is used for Data analyses. Data mining software allows the user to analyze the data from several different perspectives, categorize it, and summarize the relationships identified. In other words data mining is a process of finding patterns or correlations among several fields in large relational databases.

Data Warehouse: It is a relational database which is designed for analyses and query rather than transaction processing. IT generally contains the historical data which has been derived from the transaction data, but it can also include data from several other sources. It separates the analysis work from the transaction work and allows an organisation to consolidate the data from various other sources as well.

A data warehouse environment also includes extraction, transportation, transformation, and loading solution, client analysis tools, an online analytical processing engine (OLAP), and other processes which could gather the data and provide it further to business users.
