Microsoft Office :  Microsoft office is an official suite which contains several services and applications for Microsoft Windows as well as Mac OS X operating systems. Microsoft office helps to document various information is suitable manner, perform certain set of instructions on the input data and give desired results. 

 

Various applications that come in the office suite these days are : 

   a)  Microsoft Word :  It is a word processor which helps you create documents with various fonts, sizes, colours, styles of presenting text etc. All the versions of Microsoft word before Microsoft office 2007 create documents with .doc extension and Microsoft office 2007 is xml based and hence creates a document with .docx extension.

   b)  Microsoft PowerPoint : Microsoft PowerPoint is the most popular and famous presentation program for Windows and Mac. It is used for creating slideshows, that may be composed of movies, text, graphics and various other objects, which can be displayed on-screen and printed out on transparencies or slides or can be navigated through by the presenter.

   c)  Microsoft Excel : It is a spreadsheet program. Helps you with data in tabular format, perform calculations manage numerical data etc.

   d)  Microsoft Access : This is a database handling program which helps you to deal with vast amount of data. You can even write down MS Sql queries to perform operations on the database created by you. Alternatively you can also perform operations on the database by just few clicks as the program has embedded Sql queries and makes the task easier even for a layman.

   e)  Microsoft Outlook : Microsoft Outlook is e-mail communication software and a personal information manager. It is a replacement for Windows Messaging, Microsoft Mail and Schedule+ starting in Office 97 and it includes an e-mail client, calendar, task manager and address book.

Multimedia :

Multimedia is a way to present text, graphics, video, and sound in an integrated way. Multimedia can help us create an animated video through still photographs embedding music along with it. 

Various tools that can be used for editing and creating such videos are: Picasa, Windows Photo Story, Windows Movie Maker etc.
